Memoir writing is essentially storytelling in its most personal form. In this four-week workshop, we’ll read and discuss excerpts from some of the best memoirists, share ideas we’d like turn into stories or essays, and use prompts to write both in-workshop and at home. Our focus is to find our unique writing voice, discover the most resonant stories that could lead to more substantial work, and become part of a supportive writing community. Besides facilitating meaningful discussion, Tracy will offer both written feedback and light editing.
Requirements: Participants must type weekly writing assignments on a computer and bring printed copies for everyone to read and respond to. Paper and pen (or laptop) would be helpful to have at each workshop.
